Custom Piston Ring Options
Pri provides custom piston ring solutions for the application’s unique specifications. Pri’s custom piston ring options include the following products:
EXPANDING PISTON RINGS / EXPANDING SEAL RINGS:
For applications where the ring must contact the cylinder bore, and the ring groove is located within the piston (outward tension). These are often used for power generation systems. Used in nozzles of turbines or to seal gearboxes.
CONTRACTING PISTON RINGS / CONTRACTING SEAL RINGS:
For applications where the ring's I.D. must contact the shaft or rod, and the groove is located within the housing (inward tension). Contracting rings seal on the inside of the diameter, commonly used for shaft seals.
ONE PIECE PISTON RINGS / ONE PIECE SEAL RINGS:
These options are the least expensive sealing ring types and are available in many gap configurations.
TWO PISTON RING COMBINATION / TWO SEAL RING COMBINATION:
Offers better sealing characteristics than a single ring.
THREE PISTON RING COMBINATION / THREE SEAL RING COMBINATION:
Used when positive sealing is required. The inner ring effectively blocks leakage at the outer ring gaps.
PINNED PISTON RINGS / PINNED SEAL RINGS:
Used in butterfly valve applications.
Sometimes used to help seat the ring and to dampen vibration.
